In fact equality being an unnatural condition which can only be enforced by the state is usually the enemy of liberty. This is a point I made in France on the bicentennial celebration of the French Revolution, which deliberately and dangerously confused the two. My French hosts were somewhat perplexed but the point stands. Starting with the French Revolution and then greatly encouraged by the Bolshevik Revolution, modern times have been plagued by isms, that is by ideologists in effect secular religions. Most of them were unbelievably bad. Communism for example accounted for approaching a hundred million deaths. It enslaved the East while its first cousin socialism impoverished much of the West. Not seism that other brand of socialism and its tame or far-bourred fascism killed about 25 million. The proponents of these ideologies engaged in polemics and indeed violence against each other. But they had more in common than they admitted, for their essence was that the state had the right indeed the duty to act like a god and the results were devilish. ## Caption / Post Text "The single biggest intellectual error during my political lifetime has been to confuse freedom with equality. In the same sense as people do, yes. Are they conscious? I think they probably don't have much self awareness present. So in that sense I don't think they're conscious. Will they have self awareness? Conscious. Yes. Oh yes, I think they're willing to. And so human beings will be the second most intelligent beings on the planet. Yeah. ## Caption / Post Text Geoffrey Hinton had a vision before the world could even imagine it. In a time when computers were rare and clunky, he set out to teach them how to learn, much like the human brain. His research laid the foundation for what we now call artificial intelligence, but back then, most people thought he was chasing a pipe dream. Rejection didn’t stop him. He kept pushing forward, fueled by the belief that his ideas could change everything. And he was right. His work sparked the AI revolution, earning him the nickname “Godfather of AI.” But now, the man who helped create this new world is worried. The key message: old clothes are rarely recycled into new garments because the technology and infrastructure don't exist at scale. Fast fashion's quantity-over-quality model has created a glut of low-value clothing that burdens developing countries with waste. The "myth of circularity" shields companies and consumers from the reality that the only real solution is to buy less, buy better, and wear longer. ## Corrected Transcript / Extracted Text N/A — image post (no audio/video transcript) ## Caption / Post Text ● Few are aware that old clothes are rarely recycled into new ones because the technology and infrastructure don't exist to do that at scale. ● But the rise of fast fashion—and shoppers' preference for quantity over quality—has led to a glut of low-value clothing that threatens to tank the economics of that trade and inordinately burdens developing countries. ● Meanwhile, the myth of circularity spreads, shielding companies and consumers from the inconvenient reality that the only way out of the global textile waste crisis is to buy less, buy better and wear longer. ● Read more through the link in our bio. You can't just love someone no matter what they do. Oh, damn, they have to be conditions, right? Of course, no one should have anyone to treat them badly or accept abuse of any kind. But that's not what unconditional love is about. It's about having empathy while erasing judgments. No strings attached. It's selfless. It's reciprocal and real. It's not a myth. Based on what you just shared with me about your upbringing, it sounds like something that you didn't receive as a child. I mean, your mother didn't choose you when it came to your stepfather. Your father chose addiction over you, at least in your eyes. Has anyone ever said to you, I love you, I'm here for you, and I'm not leaving no matter what. No. No. Maybe that's why you don't believe it exists. Because for you, it never has. ## Caption / Post Text Unconditional Love The Impact of Childhood Trauma on Love and Relationships Unconditional love is something many of us yearn for, but for those carrying the weight of childhood trauma, it can be incredibly difficult to give or receive. Often, the love we were shown growing up—whether it was absent, conditional, or even abusive—shapes how we interact with others as adults. When parents struggle with addiction, emotional unavailability, or abusive behavior, those experiences can become deeply ingrained in the next generation. This cycle of pain and neglect can make it hard to trust, communicate, or form healthy connections. Many people don’t even realize how their past influences their ability to love fully or to set boundaries in relationships. Healing from childhood trauma requires understanding and breaking those cycles. It involves recognizing the patterns that were passed down and consciously choosing to unlearn them. Only then can we begin to give and receive love in a healthier, more unconditional way. #breakingthecycle #generationaltrauma #healing #unconditionallove #conditioned #abusive #power #addiction #parentalalienation #love #explore #reels #relatable ## Key Claims - Now, I don't believe in unconditional love. - You can't just love someone no matter what they do. - Oh, damn, they have to be conditions, right? I don't believe in giving us things that are just going to handicap us. That is the worst thing you can do. And I've had family members that I've done it to because my mother's asked me to. And when she passed away in 2009, I said all of them letters saying, listen, you got 60 days to become gainfully employed because I'm not going to keep supporting you. Are you serious? 100%. They all got jobs. And it wasn't even jobs where they're making a lot of money. But it was a job. It was something else for them to do to feel surprised. That's the same thing I would want somebody to do for me. But do you still get the backspatch from that? You said they wasn't making a lot of money. They could look at you and say, well, why not? I can't have more. Why am I working next to somebody to make more money? I have family members that got mad at me because I wouldn't give them a million dollars. And I ask Jada's question because I'm actually going through that right now. When you start getting success, people start calling you. I just turned 38 today. They might break that. Happy birthday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm going to be able to talk about this for the rest of my days. I'm sitting here with legends on my birthday. But here's the focus, though. What are you trying to do? If you're trying to build a business to carry everybody in your family through, that's one thing. And if you're trying to do that, then build a business. What that means is you've got to watch the family members that come putting holes in the boat when you're trying to get across the sea. So sometimes you build a boat by yourself. Y'all all wait over here on the shore. Stay here. I'm building this boat. I'm going to go over and build this. And then I'm going to come back and see who's worthy. Come on. Come on. Because anybody who's going to drag you down, I'm going to put holes in the boat, or try to destroy you, man. Why bring them over? I had to get rid of my hope. ## Caption / Post Text Tyler Perry says he fired his aunt after giving her a job because she kept calling in and not showing up—and reveals one family member got mad when he refused to give him a million dollars. ## Key Claims - I have to bring along. - How do I have to let some go? Years of love is forgotten in the hatred of a moment that moment is the most important, like that. It don't matter, you could have just bought a helicopter three days ago. She forgot about it. That is just that moment, like how they feel. At that time, she's willing to throw away everything just for that hatred. Like, I hate you right now, like how I feel right now is the most important. Again, it negates all intellect, it negates all logic, it negates all intelligence. It's really just because feelings are not even a lot of times, they're not even real. ## Caption / Post Text *(None)* ## Key Claims - Edgar Allen Poe, he has a poem and he said, he said, years of love forgot in the hatred of a moment. - That's how women think. - Years of love is forgotten in the hatred of a moment that moment is the most important, like that. - It don't matter, you could have just bought a helicopter three days ago. - That is just that moment, like how they feel. ## Topic Application - **other**: General ## Caveats ## Related Sources (Idea-to-Idea) ## Linkages

If there's a single thing I'd like you to take with you today, it is that multiculturalism has next to nothing to do with the study of other cultures. It is, that may be a worthwhile thing to do in an increasingly global world, but that's not what it is about. You do not see students protesting on college campuses, demanding missionary postings in third world countries to learn more about other societies. You do not have protests demanding more rigorous foreign language requirements, where people will protest to learn Chinese or Swahili or Russian or anything of that sort. Again, it has nothing to do with other cultures. The same, I think, is true of diversity. This is another one of these incredibly misleading euphemistic terms. It does not, to put it charitably, have much to do with a diversity of ideas. You do not have real diversity on a college campus when you have a campus full of people who look different, but think alike. And again, I think this is very, very important as a starting point in framing the issue. Well, the question then becomes, well, what are these things really about? What is multiculturalism really about? And I will suggest to you that the single, most important theme that runs through, much that goes under the rubric of multicultural, is that it is anti-western. It is not non-western. It is still focused very much on our own society, but it is primarily a vehicle for denouncing it. At Stanford University, which is the one I'm the most familiar with, but I think is certainly no exception to the rule. The debate over multiculturalism in the late 80s started with a protest. The protest was against Western culture. The notorious chant was, hey, hey, ho, ho, Western cultures, gotta go. It was not a demand for inclusion. It was a demand for exclusion. ## Caption / Post Text Peter Thiel was 28 when he delivered this speech. He'd just co-written The Diversity Myth with David Sacks — now Trump's AI and crypto czar. The book came out of their time as Stanford undergrads in the early 1990s. The "hey hey ho ho western culture's got to go" chant Thiel references was real. It happened in 1988 when protesters disrupted a lecture by Education Secretary William Bennett. Jesse Jackson joined the march. Stanford replaced its required Western Civilization course shortly after. Thiel and Sacks argued this wasn't inclusion — it was substituting one orthodoxy for another. The vocabulary changed. The conformity didn't. The argument Thiel makes here — that "diversity" in practice enforces ideological uniformity while calling it pluralism — was fringe in 1996. It became the intellectual foundation of what is now called the anti-DEI movement. In 2025, hundreds of universities dismantled their DEI offices. Most cited no specific intellectual argument. They didn't need to. This one had been sitting on a shelf since 1996. #peterthiel #diversity #stanforduniversity #deadwronghistory #multiculturalism #diversitymyth #davidsacks ## Key Claims - Let's start with multiculturalism. - Multiculturalism has next to nothing to do with the study of other cultures. - If there's a single thing I'd like you to take with you today, it is that multiculturalism has next to nothing to do with the study of other cultures. - It is, that may be a worthwhile thing to do in an increasingly global world, but that's not what it is about. - You do not see students protesting on college campuses, demanding missionary postings in
